Greg was initially a machinist and then entered the management cadre of an aerospace company. He was with the company for a decade. A change in administration led to his demotion and a significant reduction in his pay. This put Greg in a tight spot, as he could not pay his bills. Thereafter Greg resolved not to work for anybody; instead, wanted to own his business and control his paycheck himself. Greg tried his hand at many opportunities like selling jewelry, baseball cards, distributorships, and many more. Eventually he settled for direct marketing or Multi Level Marketing. Although he soon achieved success, he was not satisfied with his level of success.

In the beginning, Greg was not very successful as he was working and implementing only his ideas. Later, he started taking help from other established marketers by reading and referring to their books. He gained substantial knowledge and could identify flaws, weaknesses, and shortcomings in his leadership. Very soon, Greg corrected these flaws and shortcomings and people began to flock to him. They started duplicating his work and his business started flourishing. Greg insists on setting an example for others to follow. This holds the key for success in any business.

Greg stresses the need to have a genuine product for selling in the market. You cannot focus on marketing plans without having a useful product for sale. Your product lays the foundation of your business and you make good profit from the sale of such product. Without proper marketing and good leadership, you will be sailing in a rudderless boat.

Greg is very upbeat about developing your personal outlook. This evades all negative and unhealthy thoughts. Every month, his team members read a book or listen to an audio program. They then get together and discuss their experiences through teleconferencing. This is a great motivator and inspires every team member to work still better.

Greg stresses on three main factors - Persistence to continue with vicissitudes of business, faith in your capabilities to achieve success, and the capacity to forgive other people’s mistakes and misconceptions. Greg’s inspiration is through a few books- Lead The Field by Earl Nightingale, Zig Ziglar’s classic of The View from The Top, John C Maxwell’ Becoming a Person of Influence and 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, and The Leadership Lessons of Jesus by Bob Briner and Ray Pritchard.
