E Joseph Cossman was an American salesperson largely known in the marketing circle for selling ant farms and shrunken heads through the direct door-to-door method.  His name is also associated with entrepreneurship seminars organized during his lifetime. His next venture lay in sharing his unique marketing concepts and ideas. This resulted in promoting and marketing various new products in the market. This was a way to further extend his entrepreneurial empire and help others in venturing the business. Over two million copies of his writing How I Made $1,000,000 in Mail Order (And You Can Too), published by Simon and Schuster, was sold making him even richer. 

He was keen to disseminate his marketing skills to other entrepreneurs and thus presented a seminar primarily dealing with it, to over 50,000 students who were eager to learn the marketing skills. Crossman got offers from leading universities for providing a "11 Step Entrepreneurial Program", to the students of their educational setup.
