The chief problem that NDIYP faced was two-fold. The customers felt that the seller was ripping them of their money while the seller was undone in times of difficulty, as the head office did not lend a helping hand in any way. On contacting the head office the seller received discouraging feedback where either the line was kept on hold for a longtime or false assurance of due investigation made.

Since its inception, NDIYP followed an irregular working mechanism. While some of the franchisee had to pay as high as $8,000, some others managed to get it for just $800. Consistency is must when you are dealing with customers. Obviously the ones paying the greater would not be happy when they meet other people who bought the same privilege at a much lower cost. Besides, the people who joined NDIYP in hope of getting the promised services never received it.

With many discontented customers things came to the notice of the authorities and in March 1999 the FBI, the US Postal Inspectors, the Attorney General for the state of Florida and the IRS had to raid Richdale’s offices. A large number of documents were seized in the operation. Richdale defended himself by claiming that the other people associated with the company exploited it to get fulfill their interest while he was unaware of such deeds. To redress the wrong he started giving out refunds on everything that a customer bought from the company apart from offering refunds on NDIYP deals. All this has affected the image of the organization and Richdale or NDIYP is longer visible on television.
