Many people think that majority of the Credit Card Scams happen over the Internet. However, watch out when paying out from your Credit card for gas, or a restaurant bill, or passing your credit card information on the phone because any leakage of this critical information to any unscrupulous person and you may have a hefty credit card bill in your mailbox. Actually, using your credit card on a secured payment gateway is one of the safest means, which ensures privacy of the transaction.
There can be cases wherein you receive a phone call promising you a cheaper loan, or a heavy discount over a purchase, asking you the credit card information. Just do not entertain any such requests. Be sure to whom you are sharing information or giving your credit card.
Better still, these days if you are billed for a transaction you never got into or if the credit card company has billed you for an items you did not purchase, you can report to the credit card company and get the charges reversed, subject to verification of your claim by the company. Do check your credit card bill carefully to confirm the transactions made by you.
