An unsolicited bulk mail is not a good marketing or promotional strategy. Sending spam mails can cause you legal problems and give rise antispam attacks and you most probably will not make money. However, "opt-in mailing" or "permission based mailing" is effective and legal. The term is self-explanatory. This means that people have registered for it and either have given you permission or have asked (opted) for the mails. Classic examples of these two types of mailing are Newsletters and Ezines.
